Recruitment of Diploma Trainees for the year 2010
NTPC is looking for bright, dynamic Diploma Trainees (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and C & I disciplines) for its projects/Stations located in the following Regions. The advertisement of Regions are as under:

Training , emoluments & placement:
Selected candidates will undergo training for a period of 1(one) year at various NTPC sites on a consolidated stipend of Rs. 6700/- per month. On successful completion of training, these candidates will be absorbed in the pay scale of Rs.6700-3%-11750/-.
Age Limit : 27 years as on 01.01.2010.
For Project Affected Persons(PAPs), upper age limit is 35 years as on 01.01.2010 Relaxation to OBC/SC/PWD candidates as per GOI norms.
Qualification :
Electrical :- Full time regular Diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 70% marks.
Mechanical :- Full time regular Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 70% marks.
Civil :- Full time regular Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 70% marks.
C&I :- Full time regular Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering with minimum 70% marks.
Relaxation for SC/PWD: Pass marks
Relaxation for PAP: 50% marks.
Year of Acquiring Qualification :
For UR: Only those who have acquired qualification after 1.1.2007
For OBC/SC/PWD: Only those who have acquired qualification after 1.1.2006
For PAP: No bar on year of acquiring qualification
Selection Process :
Eligible candidates will have to undergo two hours objective type written test. Based on merit and requirement, the list of successful candidates for interview will be made available at www.ntpccareers.com and communication will be sent to such candidates. All short listed candidates will have to appear for Personal Interview.
Date of Written Test for all Regions: 21.02.2010
Service Agreement Bond :
The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 10,000/- (General and OBC) to serve the company for a minimum period of 3 years after completion of training.
Health :
The candidate should have sound health. Before joining, candidates will have to undergo medical examination by NTPC Medical Board and the decision of the board will be final and binding. Appointment will be subject to meeting the medical norms prescribed by the Company. No relaxation in medical norms is allowed.
How to Apply :
1. Eligible candidates have to apply through online registration system of NTPC only. To apply with your valid e-mail ID. The site is functional from 10.00 hours of 17.12.2009 to midnight of 06.01.2010.
2. After applying online, candidate is required to download the registration slip and challan/ pay-in-slip (in respect of General and OBC candidates only) generated by the system with unique registration number.
3. Candidate belonging to General/OBC category is required to pay a nonrefundable registration fee of Rs. 200/-. The candidate must carry the challan/ pay-in-slip generated by the system to the nearest State Bank of India branch to deposit the registration fee of Rs. 200/-.
4. State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee, in a specially opened account number NTPC LTD HR RECTT A/C NO. 30987919993 at CAG branch (Branch Code: 09996), New Delhi, on behalf of NTPC. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the "challan"/ “pay-in-slip” which is generated by the system on applying. The challan/ pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. Bank commission charges will be borne by the candidate. Registration fee deposited after 07.01.2010 will not be valid.
5. The candidate should send duly signed printout of registration slip after affixing the colour photograph( Unique Registration number must be written at the back of the photograph) and
a. copy of challan (for Gen/OBC) ;
b. Certificates in proof of SC/ST/PWD;
c. Copy of RA number/ PAP I card/ Other relevant Document (PAPs)
6. The candidate should write “Diploma Trainee” along with Discipline(Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil/C&I) & unique registration number on the top of the envelope and should send the envelop containing the Registration Slip alongwith enclosures by ordinary post to:
