Indian Institute of Geomagnetism invites application for the post of Research Scholars

Requirements: M.Sc in Physics with a minimum of 60% marks. Candidates who are appearing in the final year examination may also apply.

Scholarship: Rs. 12,000/- per month (consolidated) for the first and second year and Rs.14,000/- per month in subsequent years. In addition, book grant of Rs. 6,000/- per annum is provided to students registered for Ph.D.

Maximum Age: 25 years as on 1st June, 2009

Selection Criteria: Candidates who are in possession of the GATE / NET (forJRF only) certificate valid up to January 2010 in subject code -2 (Earth,Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Science) or subject code -5 (Physical Science)will be called directly for the interview. For others, a separate written examination will be conducted by the centre at Tirunelveli followed by the personal interview.

Application Procedure: Desirous candidates may apply in the format given below. Travel Assistance: To and fro II class train fare by the shortest route will be paidto outstation candidates attending test/interview subject to the production of the valid ticket.
