Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
Applications are invited for the two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Research Programme in Engineering (PGRPE ) in the cutting-edge technological areas.
 Qualification : Candidates should be graduates in the relevant discipline of engineering depending on the specific programme as stipulated on the home page with outstanding academic credential preferably with a valid GATE score.
Engineering graduates of 2009 and graduating in 2010 with relevant disciplines as stated above for specific programme with minimum 70% marks or 7.0 CGPA are only eligible. A valid GATE score will be an added advantage.
Candidates who have passed their B.E./B.Tech or equivalent examination with disciplines as stated in the essential qualification column of application form before 2009 are not eligible. Candidates whose final results are awaited, but who are otherwise eligible as per the screening criteria, can also apply
Age : The age of the candidates should not be more than 25 years (for General and OBC category) and 28 years (for SC/ST category) as on 01.07.2010 for admission to the programme.

Fees

Fellowship amount of Rs. 25,000 per month will be awarded to selected candidates during the two-year programme.

One-time Admission Fee (non-refundable)  :   Rs. 4,000
One-time Security Deposit (refundable       :  Rs. 6,000
Semester Tuition Fees (non-refundable)    : Rs. 24,000

The selected candidate will be designated as Scientist Trainee under QHS scheme and they will be trained on exciting live projects so that they emerge as research ready scientists/engineers for taking up challenging positions. Such candidates shall receive a consolidated emolument of Rs.25000/- p.m. and would also enjoy other benefits as applicable to QHS of CSIR. PGRPE is a four-semester (2 years) programme. Extension beyond this period for completing the programme will be decided on a case-by-­case basis. In addition, on successful completion of the PGRPE with distinction, the candidates may be considered by CSIR for absorption in CSIR as Scientists in Pay Band-3 of the Government of India (Scale Rs. 15600 - 39100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/- plus other allowances as applicable).

Essential Minimum Qualification : -
1. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil/ Computer Science/Information Technology) :-BE/B.Tech./B.Sc(Engg.) /AMIE in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics/Civil/Computer Science/Information Technology from any recognized University/Institution (Approved by AICTE). In case of Electrical Engineering the other degree "Electrical & Electronics"/"Electrical Instrumentation" will be considered at par of Electrical. Similarly in case of Mechanical Engineering, the degree of �Production Engineering� will also be considered equivalent to Mechanical. In case of Electronics Engineering, �Electronics & Telecommunication�/ �Electronics & Instrumentation� will also be considered at par of Electronics.

2. Shift Chemist:-M.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 65% in aggregate marks from any Indian University recognized by the UGC. However 10% relaxation in marks shall be given to SC/ST category candidates of C. G. State.
Note : Candidates appearing in final year/semester of BE/B.Tech./B.Sc(Engg.)/AMIE/M.Sc. may also apply. However mark sheet of final year/semester must be produced before 20.08.2010 otherwise candidature of such candidates shall be out rightly rejected.

3. Junior Engineer (Mechanical/Production/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electrical - Instrumentation/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Civil/ Computer Science/ IT :-Engineering Diploma in concerned branch.

Age :- Minimum age limit : 18 years for all posts. As on 01.04.2010.

Application fee : Rs. 500/- (Rs.300 for Jr. Engineer)  for General , OBC category & SC/ST category candidates of other than Chhattisgarh State AND Rs. 200/-(Rs. 100 for Jr. Engineer) for SC/ST category candidates of Chhattisgarh State in form of non-refundable D.D./Banker's cheque in favour of "Assistant Manager (CAU), CSPHCL, Raipur" payable at Raipur (Chhattisgarh). The candidates should write their name/post applied and complete mailing address on reverse side of D.D.
