Name of post: Commissioned Officer

Qualification: A Master's Degree in Physics (with Maths in B Sc)/ Maths (with Physics in B Sc)/ Computer Science (with Maths/ Phy in B.Sc)/ IT with at least 50% marks / B.E/ B.Tech (Mech/ EEE/ ECE/ Electrical/ Electronics/ IT/ Computer Science/ Tele communication) with 60% marks/ MCA.

Age: 21-25 Yrs born between 02 July 1985 and 01 July 1989; both dates inclusive

Physical Standards: 1) Minimum height 157 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate. 2) Eye Sight : 6/60,with glasses: 6/6, 6/12 and should not be color/night blind.

Selection Process: Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Intelligence test, Group Discussion, psychological Test, and fitness in the Medical Examinations.

Deputy Commandant (Law) (i) A degree in Law with 6 years experience in legal matters.
(ii) Should be qualified for enrolment as an advocate in a High Court
Desirable
(i) A post Graduate degree in Law
(ii) Knowledge/Experience in Assignment connected with International Law/Maritime Law.
Male/ Female Should be below 45 yrs as on (30 Nov 2009)

Medical Standard
(a) Height in cms.

(i) Asst Commandant (GD) : 157 cms minimum, may be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese( including those from Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura) Garhwal, Sikkim, Local tribes of A & N islands and 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshadweep, mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar.
(ii) Asst Commandant (Women) and Asst. Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holder for short service appointment: Minimum 162 cms and maximum 197 cms, leg length 99 cms.

(b) Weight: Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
(c) Chest : Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms

Eye Sight
(i) Asst Commandant (GD) - 6/6 (Good Eye) and 6/9 (Bad Eye) without glasses.
(ii) Asst Commandant (Pilot) and Asst Comdt Pilot entry for Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holder for short service appointment - 6/6(Both Eyes) without glasses
(iii) Asst Commandant (Women) - 6/6 (Good Eye) and 6/9 (Bad Eye) without glasses.
(iv) Deputy Commandant (Law) - 6/6 & 6/12 (with glass), 6/60 (without glass)

Selection Process:
Short listed candidates will be called for selection test/interview at CGSB, Noida(UP). Candidate’s excellence in Academics, sports NCC will be given due weight age whilst short listing the candidates.
The selection process consists of two phases
(i) Preliminary Selection Boards (PSB), It consists of General Mental Ability Test in which the candidates will be tested for General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning.
(ii) Final Selection Board (FSB), It consists of Psychological Test, Group Testing and Interview (Personality Test).

Medical examination will be held at Delhi.

Applications in the prescribed format (type written or hand written in English/Hindi) is to be sent so as to reach on or before 30 Nov 2009 to The Director (MPR&T), Post Box No. 127, Noida (U.P) – 201301. Under Postal Certificate (UPC) only. Central/State Govt. employees should apply through proper channel. As short service Commissioned Officers in Naval Armament Inspection Cadre of Executive Branch Course Commencing July 2010

Applications are invited from unmarried male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission in Naval Armament Inspection Cadre of Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for course commencing July 2010 at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. Candidates to fulfil condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India.

Eligibility conditions
Age. 19 ½ to 25 years i.e. born between 02 July 1985 and 01 January 1991; both dates inclusive.

Educational Qualifications. Any of the following:-
(a) BE/ B.Tech in Electrical/ Electronics/Mechanical from an institution recognized by AICTE.
(b) Post-graduate Degree in Electronics/Physics from a recognized University.

Physical Standards
(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight.
(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/60, 6/60 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.

Selection Procedure
(a) Short listed candidates will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) (IHQ-MoD (Navy)) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account.
(b) SSB interviews for Short-listed candidates will be scheduled during Jan – Jun 2010 at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore.
(c) The SSB interview is conducted for a period of five days in two stages. Stage-1 includes Intelligence test, Picture perception test & Group discussion and is conducted on the first day. The candidates who qualify Stage-1 are made to appear for Stage-2 and the rest are sent back on the same day. The Stage-2 includes Psychological tests, Group Tasks and personal interview conducted over the balance four days. The successful candidates would then have to clear a special medical examination at the same venue (approximate duration 3-5 days).
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit will be appointed for training in order of all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
(e) Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
(f) Candidates who wish to change their SSB dates must apply to the President of the SSB. Award of fresh dates for SSB would be subject to availibility at respective SSB.
(g) Any injury sustained during the SSB interview will not be compensated.
(h) ‘Candidates appearing for SSB interview for the first time for this entry would be free rail sleeper class return fare’.

Training
The training is scheduled to commence in the month of Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships. Full pay and allowances are admissible to officers whilst undergoing training.
